Marcana CIFP students will create social robots aimed at improving the well among people

Fuerteventura Cabildo supports a pioneering project in the robots that will be transferred to social health centers on the islandA

CIFP Marcial students will work in the leading robots project, aiming to improve the quality of the elderly and/or transgressors. According to the title “Higia, Social Robot”, the initiative will be transferred to social health centers for disability and/or people who depend on Cabildo de Fuerteventura, and President Lula Garcia and Minister of Social Labor, Victor Alonso, explained while presenting the classroom project at the educational center.

IES Majada Marcial De Puerto del Rosario will be interested in developing this project, along with CIFP Safa Tech of Valladolid and CIFP Aviles. Thanks to this cooperation, students will develop the main competencies in the design and operation of social robots, a technology with great potential for application in care.

The project is considering building four advanced social robots, designed by Ininnova. These robots will have natural interaction technology, allowing faces, responding to vocal orders and keeping conversations. They may attend in various daily tasks and provide cognitive stimulation and emotional support, and improve the luxury and social integration of people.

Manda Marcial CIFP will be responsible for mechanical design, assembly and robot calibration, while CIFP Safa Tech is directed to the design of the drawing interface and programs. For its part, CIFP Avilés will be responsible for the design of electronics, the integration of sensors in independent mobility and the detection of obstacles.

According to Lola García, “It is important that the new technologies and all their capabilities are in the service of people living in Fuerteventura, especially those weak groups that require special attention.” In addition, the President continued, “Through a project that allows students to train students on programming and assembly tasks that will work to specialize in prosperous professional sectors such as new technologies.” For this reason, the President of the island announced, in addition, that Cabildo will financially support the project, allowing the center to obtain a portion of the equipment needed to develop it.

For his part, VíCtor Alonso highlighted “a project that arises from cooperation between Cabildo, the company’s office and educational centers, and this is useful for the vulnerable people in Fuerteventura.” “A series of technical criteria for adapting this technology will be followed with user profile and various social health centers in Fuerteventura.”

The officials of the Offinnova group referred to the term “social robot” because that technology that interacts with people naturally and effectively, is designed to work in social environments such as homes, schools or hospitals. They focus on improving the quality of people’s lives, providing support and assistance efficiently and friendly. “We will bet on Ventura to develop this type of useful project for the population,” said Jose Antonio Guterres.

In the presentation, the Minister of Education, Eduarguma Hernandez, and director of CIFP Magada Marcial, Antonio Guterres, who thanked Capeldo de Ventura for the development of this type of project. “It cannot be proud to have this kind of opportunities in our center.”

In addition, Professor Cándido Sánchez from CIFP Avilés and CIFP Sacha De Valladolid, álvaro Solloa. They thanked the island’s reception for the cooperation it created with Cabildo de FuerteveNtura and the MaJorro CIFP MAJAAAAAAAL MAGIAL Educational Center, while highlighting its high level.

This initiative includes an investment of 120,000 euros, with funding from the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, with Nextgeneu funds within the recovery, transformation and flexibility plan.
