The closing of the Attic border has stalled Afghanistan-India trade, banned Pakistan trucks
The Atari-Vaga border was closed for passengers after the Pahalgam terror attack. At the same time, after the Pakistani Afghan trucks were closed, the India-Afghan trade was also stopped by this boundary. However, after the 2019 Pulwama attack, the Indo-Pak trade was almost closed by the Integrated Checkpost (ICP) on the Attic border, but so far Afghanistan imports have come to India through the ICP. India-Afghan trade has also been closed through this land path, which has decided not to give India a land-to-path route and Pakistan has not given its land to enter India.
These items come from Afghanistan
What is remarkable is that about 40-45 trucks come to India with dry fruits, fruits and seasonal vegetables from Afghanistan. But, after the border was closed, now Afghan trucks are coming to India in two days. Suraj Handa of the Land Port Authority of India (LPI), which confirmed it from India today, said on the phone that no Afghan truck from Pakistan has now received a message from Pakistan. In the last two days, the Afghan truck attic has not arrived. Therefore, the trade was closed and Pakistan shut it down.
India has not exported goods
Notably, Afghan imports are coming in India and Indian exports are not allowed to Afghanistan. The border closure has influenced passengers and the people of Pakistan appeared in a hurry to return to their country, which has influenced the business. What is remarkable is that whenever the Afghan Import reaches the attic, local laborers and trucks have entered the ICP to pick up goods, but now the closure of business has not only influenced local employment but also stopped transport and trade.
Pakistan has announced this
Speaking to India today, leading importer Rajdeep Uppal said, “After the Pulwama attack in 2019, the India-Pakistan trade on this border has almost closed on this border. Now only Afghanistan’s items are coming to India and now it has stopped, because Pakistan trucks are allowed to enter India.”
He said the economy was strictly affected, but we respect the decision of the Government of India. He said that the local laborers working in the Atari, “shutting down the business, have worked in the attic and over 1400 porters in domestic work.”
Impact on local people’s employment
The local carbir Singh, who runs Dhaba on the border of the Atari, said, “Trade is a great employment source of local people, but its closure has a major impact.
