Uttarakhand Kisan ITBP Mutton Supply – Small farmers have created a big act in Uttarakhand! 2.6 crores earned in just 5 months, mutton, chicken and fish supply to ITBP

The migration from villages is now old, because if the cattle breeders of the Uttarakhand border districts increase and the system supports, the quotes can be earned from the village. In just 5 months, 253 small farmers earned Rs 2.6 crore and it was also by supplying mutton, chicken and fish to the army!

Yes, you are reading right. Farmers of the border districts are supplying Pithoraga H, Chamoli, Northchi and Champawat in Uttarakhand directly to the ITBP (Indo-Tibetan border police) directly to Mutton, Chicken and Trout fish. And from this supply, their earnings are now coming back to the big stores in the cities.

How did the duty of the farmers change?

Earlier, ITBP had to get all these items from Mutton, Chicken and Fish Cities. But the livestock department took a big step in October 2024 and the ITBP supply was directly to local farmers. The result? 253 farmers, 10 co -operative and farmer producers are fulfilling ITBP demand in collaboration with the company.

According to the PTI report, 79,530 kg of mutton, chicken and trout fish were supplied in the first 5 months. This includes 42,748 kg of mutton, 29,407 kg of chicken and 7,374 kg trout fish. With this, these farmers earned Rs 2.6 crore!

20 million annual turnover target!

According to Dr. BVRCC Purushottam, Secretary of the Department of Animal Husbandry, farmers are being paid to farmers within 24 hours of supplied. For this purpose, the department has prepared a Rs 5 crore revolving fund. The scheme is expected to supply 800 metric tonnes every year, leading to an annual turnover of up to Rs 20 crore.

Farmers changed luck

The story of Narendra Prasad from the village of Bharala in the district of Pithoraga is becoming an inspiration to every farmer today. In 2022-23, he started with the poultry scheme of the livestock department and today he is preparing 16 quintals chicken every month. Of these, 3 quintals chicken supplies ITBP. Narendra of the PTI says, “I didn’t think it could earn a lot from the village earlier. Now it is believed that it can change from here.”

CM Dhami praised this plan

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also praised the event. “It not only increases the income of the farmers of the border areas but also stops migration from villages. Farmers now stand up to the shoulder with ITBP to protect the country and get fresh, nutritious food.”

Now talk about this scheme, which promotes local production and farmers are no longer dependent on big cities. Apart from this, farmers have direct earnings and intermediaries are discharged. Moments open new ways of employment, in which seafood, poultry agriculture and goat are promoted.
