Why do threads recommend these strange spami posts from people looking for ‘friends’?

From the early days of the app, users have long sparked the sometimes of the sometimes bizarre posts operating through its recommended algorithm. Recently, some users have begun to notice another kind of strange post in their instructions: posts from random people looking for “friends”.
Posts often include young people selfies, whose profiles claim 18. The Engdet has observed many posts that appear in the “related threads” feature of the content recommended for login-out users. It is not clear why these posts appear to be “related” for other popular recommended posts.
For example, The user Chris Messina has been indicated in the home feed for users who logged in Chris Messina about spotifying from famous threads. Clicking into the post has overcome the “related” post from Threads Head Adam Mosari. Under that post, however, there is another “related” post from an account claiming to be an 18 -year -old girl in the 11th class.
For whatever reason, the threads seem to be overcoming many other posts in its “related threads” characteristic. For example, the following post is also recommended as an “related” post elsewhere in the app. Considering this user’s profile shows that they have posted the same thing – WhatsApp link after a photo – more than 30 times in the last five days.
Egadget’s editor-in-chief Aaron is recommended as “thread” under one of my own posts when recently logged in.
Since the threads have grown to more than 350 million users, it is not surprising that the platform of the platform is spam. Meta Executive Moseri saw the company Increase In July 2023, in “Spam Attacks”, shortly after the service began. Last year, the company said it was working hard to get The engagement bait Is under control.
Although the presence of spam in the platform is not unexpected in the size of threads, the app recommends these posts very often. Meta has not responded to specific questions about these posts, or why they are displayed as “relevant” content, but not spami posts not to be displayed as a recommended content in the app.
In particular, the spami posts also appear to be recommendations in other parts of the applications of the meta. A reddit user recently observed a strange post that appeared on Instagram. In this post there is a woman’s selfie with the words “BF 🎀 Age Don’t Mind”. If you look at the user’s profile quickly, they have posted dozens of the same title last week. “Every time the window of the threads shown in the indicated threads, I have to scroll through 2-4 posts before seeing what is normal” . “I press ‘I am not interested’ and report everything I see, but they are still appearing.”
This post is a kind of ongoing spam campaign. Reddeter flagged accurate selfie and text was shared by at least one threads account. And the searches in the threads show that many other accounts are constantly sharing posts that are almost “age” or “do not care about age.”
