Reddit allows you to hide posts, comments and NSFW activity from your public profile
Reddit has never allowed its customers before: selecting their public facing profiles “curate” Some of their posting and commenting activity from other users.
To date, Reddit has had a full comment and posting functionality on profile. So even though most users are anonymous, others can easily check their post history and see what communities are active in. Reddit’s openness is a characteristic of many users who have seen, Redditors’ trolling, lies and many other types of evil (or ) Behavior on stage.
However, with update, reddit users can “curate” their profile. Additional control allows people to hide all their public posts and comments from their profile or hide from their profiles in specific sub Reddys. There is also a “NSFW” toggle, which hides posts and comments in NSFW sub Reddys. The setting does not hide the comment or post in the subordit that first appeared, but it does not appear in the user profile.
The company claims that these settings have some caravits for moderators, which they can rely on the past activity of consumers to disassemble the Rule Breakers or decide who deserves to join their community. “If you post, comment, send a mode, request as an approved poster or to join a private sub Reddy, that mode will have access to your full profile content history, your full profile content will have access to your full profile content for 28 days,” Reddit said.
Despite that concession, most redditers are not sure about changes, which can change some of the main dynamics of the platform. “It seems that bad actors seem to hide their behavior more easily from the average user” one of the most upwritated Reddit said in the post. “If you are not mode, you can’t see that they are posting inflammatory false information in a dozen different sub.”
Others have identified this feature, which means that creating an ALT or throw -out account is somewhat less requiring, because it is easy to hide posts that you don’t want to link to your presence in the app. If this is an additional convenience for some, it also raises questions about the company’s approach to create new accounts. In the company’s recent earnings call, CEO Steve Huffman Reddit is considering its “historically allowing account creation” to develop the “process”. Huffman did not explain what it would be like, but he said that the platform’s AI-powerful “abuse or manipulation” was needed.
