The Canon is expanding its Wlanup lineup with two new models, R50 V Mirrorless and PowerShot V1 Compact, both are designed to take cameras in Sony’s Wlanap line. PowerShot V1 has an interesting new 1.4-inch sensor, which is much larger than in most compact cameras. R50 V, at the same time, matches with features Sony’s ZV-E10 II But at a very low price.
PowerShot V 1 Compact Camera
PowerShot V 1 is already there Announced And it was released in Japan, but now it is ready to come to North America. It competes effectively Sony’s ZV-1 II The 1-inch sensor compact but has a very large 1.4-inch 22.3MP sensor, which is equal to the size of micro-fourths, but with the horizontal aspect of the video well. That large size, 17-52 mm (3.1x zoom) F/2.8-4.5 lens, should be better than its opponent in low light, but also provides a shallow depth field.
I have only one day PowerShot V1, but it is very thick at 426 grams (15 uns). Top mode dial, there are no more manual controls rather manual controls for the explosion, exposure compensation and other functions, lens dial for aperture, camera/video switch and zoom dial, along with many buttons. It has a 3-inch, a million-dot completely rear appearance, but there is no electronic viewfinder similar to ZV-1 II.

It can shoot a 4K30 FPS supersamped video using a full sensor width, 4K60P video with 1.4 times crop or 1080P at 240 FPS. The Canon C-Log 3 with 10-bit 4: 2: 2 capture is also supported to improve the dynamic range and allow it to be easily graded. Along with digital improved stabilization, optical is available and overheating comes with a built -in cooling fan, which allows unlimited shooting times at all resolutions.
Like the ZV-1 II, PowerShot supports many shooting models targeting the creators. These include Sony’s “Product Showcase” equivalent “Closeup demo mode”, allowing the camera to quickly focus on the object you have in front of the camera. The other stabilizes any jolting movements such as “Smooth Skin Mode” for beauty-style shooting, plus “movie mode” walk for vlagers.

The PowerShot V1 Subject Detection and Face/Eye Tracking uses Canon’s Dual Pixel II Autofocus System and contains the “Subject Tracking Is” Mode, which automatically adjusts the crop to focus on the subject in the frame. You can use it as a 1080p webcam through a USB-C port when connecting to your smartphone for live streaming. For photography, it has a physical mechanical shutter and can shoot up to 30 FPS with autofocus in electronic shutter mode. The welcome feature is the built -in ND filter (equivalent to the reduction of the light of three stops), which allows the creators to add more boke in sunny days.
Other features include a small LP-E17 battery and a single UHS-II card slot along with a microphone, headphone and microHDMI connectors. However, PowerShot V1 is not cheap at $ 900. It is ready to arrive in April 2025.

The R50 V is the first mirrorless vlaging-specific camera of Canon and is clearly designed to go against Sony’s ZV-E10 II. It is slightly longer than the PowerShot V1, but there are most of the same dimensions, and if you have a new 14-30 mm (21-45 mm full-frame equivalent) f/4-6.3 power zoom lens.
It has good manual controls such as the primary control dial above, the zoom rocker and the abnormal mode dial for the lenses, which allows you to choose multi -compatible video and Wlagging mode, including movie auto shutter, slow/fast motion recording and movie mode. For vlagers it has a completely articulating 3-inch display, but again, there is no electronic viewfinder.

R50 V 24MP comes with APS-C sensor EOS R50C-Log 3 Capture and 10-bit 4: 2: 2 video, including features from Canon’s EOS system. It can compil the 4K30 FPS video using a full sensor width, 4K60P video with crop or 120 FPS 1080P video. This is not a bad camera for photographers, using first-carton shutter or 15 FPS, allowing the electronic shutter to burn 12 FPS blasts, all started with continuous auto focus.
Like the ZV-E10 II, it does not stabilize the body, but provides optical stabilization with electronic stabilization and support lenses. For conditions that require additional shake reduction, there is a better IS mode for optical and electronic stabilization modes and sudden movements such as walking.

In R50 V, the Focus Breathing Correction has vlagging-friendly modes such as the product showcase-type function. You will get the latest dual pixel II autofocus system of Canon, including face and i detection as well as for people, animals and vehicles (along with auto mode) subject tracking. UVC/UAC, HDMI, Camera Connect and Live Switcher Mobile Multi-Camera Dedicated button allows you to immediately live stream. It comes with a single UHS-2 card slot and LP-E11 battery along with microphone, headphone, microHDMI and USB-C port.
The R50 V is 50 650 or the new RF-S14-30mm F4-6.3 costs $ 850 (sold separately for $ 330). Canon announces $ 1,700 RF 20mm F/1.4L VCM Full-Frame Lens, the latest in its rapid hybrid film-friendly series, which includes RF24MM F/1.4, RF 35mm F/1.4 and RF 50MM F/1.4 models. As mentioned, I only have R50 V and PowerShot V1 cameras for a while, but you can expect a full review of both models soon.
