Ovar: Promotion of heritage tiles with new generations

Students in the first session of the São Vesente de Pereira Primary School tell the history of the parish at a ceramic committee that helped build.

Each of them took a piece of history and building a mural of ceramics, which honors one of the symbolic symbols of Sant Vincent Pereira: the height.

This procedure took place on Tuesday, May 6, at the Sao Vicente de Pereira Elementary School, within the May program and wanted to determine the National Tiles Day. The committee, which was submitted directly to the heroes of this project, will be installed for a short period and opened in a related place of the parish.

“In addition to the tourism promotion, May of Tile emerges from its educational side, and seeks to inform all citizens, especially children and families, to the importance of taking care of the history of caution and identity,” explains Domingos Silva, the mayor of OVAR, on the pretext that these initiatives determine the preservation of the pulses of processions.

The first -session students, is the culmination of the “Magic of Tile” educational project, which aims to make new generations closer to the history and heritage of the boycott. In this project, the children were invited to leave the semester and go to discover their diocese and also Ovar, the town of Al -Madinah. Students got acquainted with the boycott tiles and they also had the opportunity to draw tiles. In the end, they left a guarantee that when they grow up, they will be guardians and ambassadors in this important heritage.
