Manfred Weber: “PPE’s main competitors are populists and extremists”

With the European People’s Party (PPE) Congress in Valencia, which meets state and party leaders, party leader Munfred Weber warned against the dictatorship in Europe, and he firmly rejected any formal alliance with parties considered extremists.

“In the coming years, the main competitors are populist and extremists. We face a dictatorship wide worldwide, which comes to Europe,” Weber told EuroNus.

“I am working with serious parties, but there is no potential cooperation with those who really question Europe like Alice Wheel and AFT or Marine Lu Ben. This is our basic hope and people can trust it,” he said.

However, from the Czech Republic, Webber has opened up with other right -wing parties, such as Italian Prime Minister Fradeli de Italy, Georgia Meloni or Petr Fiala and the European Conservatives and Reformed Group (ECR).

“We are ready to include Europe’s radical conservative parties. For example, Georgia Meloni demonstrated in Italy and is in the center with a reliable Antonio Tajani,” he said.

“Petr Fiala, in the Czech Republic, is fighting with Andrej Babic, and is a conservative politician. He must be part of a team.

When asked about the possibility of going to BPE right, the Weber rejected the suggestion, the party’s commitment to democratic policies and voter involvement over time.

“Our message is that he listens, guide, and then accomplish it,” he said, recognizing the growing appeal of populist movements throughout Europe.

Instead of looking for a common land with populists, the Weber, who chooses to confront them, protects the strong and coherent view of Europe’s future. Weber emphasized the need for a renewed story in a world where the United States is no longer dominated, and is expected to take more responsibilities.

“The largest party of Europe must provide this idea to Europe,” he said.

In Europe, one cannot lie

During JD Wans’s speech at the Munich Security Conference, Weber considers the Trump administration’s irregular behavior in which the US vice president criticized the “Commissioners” of the EU for suppressing the US vice president’s freedom of expression.

“Led by Donald Trump, we do not agree with your comments, but we will protect your right to present them in public square – we agree or agree.”

Weber does not accept this approach.

He explained, “We do not follow the opinion of Vice President Vanz. Everything is allowed. In Europe, everything is not allowed. One cannot lie and make disgusting talk.” “In Europe today, one cannot be anti -instruction.”

In Valencia, the Webber wants to present his view to the future of the continent – a view of the rule of law and the European values.

“We are doing things in the European way. We are doing so based on the rule of the Geneva Conference to respect the ownership of the asylum in Europe. We have not done it in a populist and extremist way. This is our middle stadium, which is a serious central party that will one in the world today-today.”

After the European June 2024 election, BPE received 19.7% of the vote.

“Here Spain, Hungary, Germany, Finland, they voted and decided to stop the period of the Left and Liberal Functional agenda. (They) now return to the central right agenda. This is normal in democracy.”

As for the web, the way to the forward is clear.

“The biggest problem is that when people vote for another European Parliament, things have to change for a European Central Parliament. This is not possible to see the left, and then we will continue to happen.”

However, it recognizes that no party can progress alone.

“We have an order to guide, but we are doing this with others, liberals, socialists and conservative voters who have promised to be part of the European process. We have a common responsibility as a Democrat in Europe,” Weber said.
