Eletrobras | Former minister Guido Mantega for a place in the economy represents the economy
The government has appointed former Finance Minister Guido Mantega to the Eletrobras Fiscal Council. Along with the former minister, three more names connected to the PT governments have been appointed to the company’s board of directors: Nelson Habner, former Director General of National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel); Mauracio Tolmaskquim, Petrobras Executive Director of Energy Transition and Sustainability; And Silas Rondie, the former minister of mines and energy. The names of the shareholders’ assembly still need to be accepted in April.
Nominations were made after the Eletrobras signed a reconciliation word on the limit of 10%shareholder voting force, which became the subject of claim in the STF. According to the agreement, three of the ten members of the company’s Board of Directors and one of the five representatives of the Finance Council are eligible for the Federal Government.

Lula had already tried to get Mante in Whale in 2024, but failed to prevent the resistance of private shareholders. The original idea of the president was that he maintained the mining company.
Faced with the resistance, he tried to discuss the space on the board of directors, but the purpose was not even improved. At that time, the mines and fuel minister Alexander Silvira also inspected representatives of the shareholders to measure the rejection of Mantega’s name. After the case, Silvira denied the mediation by Mantega.
In 2016, the Federal Court of Audit (TCU) was disqualified, and the second government was involved in the “pedestal” in Dilma Ruchef, which led to the impeachment of the then President. In 2023, this action was extinguished by the Federal Regional Court.
