Iran’s interior minister Iskandar called for the focus on the fire that caused a massive explosion in the Rajai port in South Iran, and the fires were intensified after ten hours after the disaster.
At least eight people were killed and 750 were injured, according to the new toll announced by the Interior Minister on the official television.
And the official television says: “The fires in the Rajai harbor have intensified, and the flames are likely to expand to other areas and other containers.”
“Currently, there is a good spirit of solidarity in the region, and after saving lives, we should focus on putting out the fire.”
The minister declared that it was issuing necessary instructions to continue working at the accident site: “We must focus on our power to extinguish the fires.”
“All capabilities are available in the area, and the Republic President has also issued the necessary instructions, and we hope that the situation in Rajai harbor will soon be normal.” He explained that reinforcement comes from Tehran and other cities. “We hope to put out the fire in the coming hours,” he said.
The official television reports that all schools and offices will be closed on Sunday in the area where the explosion occurred.
“Schools, offices and universities in Bandar Abbas will be closed on Sunday,” the ambulance apparatus officer in the Governor, Meherdad Hassan Jade.
