In its petition, the Jamiyat Ulema-e-Hind (AM) said that the law “direct attack on the country’s Constitution, not only gives its citizens equal rights but also gives them complete religious freedom.” In a statement, Jamiyat said, “The bill is a dangerous conspiracy to eliminate the religious independence of Muslims. Therefore, we have challenged the Waqf (Amendment) Act in the Supreme Court in 2025, and the state units of Jamiyat Ulema-e-Hindin will challenge the constitutional validity of the law.

Madani also filed an interim petition

It says, “Chairman of the Jamiyat Ulema-e-Hind (AM), Ma Ula Lana Arshad Matney, has challenged the various rules of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, but also filed an interim petition in court to prevent the implementation of the law.” At the same time, in its petition, ‘All Kerala Jamiyat-ulle Ulema’ said that these amendments would distort the Waqf religion and would cause irreparable damage to the democratic process in the administration of Waqf and Waqf Boards. The petition said, “Therefore, our argument is a clear intervention in the rights of religious sect to manage its things in the case of religion. This right is protected under Article 26 of the Indian Constitution.”
