The Russian Supreme Court increases the Afghan “Taliban” movement from the list of terrorist groups
Today (Thursday), the Russian Supreme Court lifted the ban on the Afghan Taliban movement, which was a “terrorist group two decades”, at one stage, paving the way for the generalization of Afghanistan leadership.
According to official media, the Supreme Court has lifted the ban on the group on Thursday.
The decision referred to the diplomatic success for “Taliban”, which has been included in the list of terrorist organizations in Russia since 2003, which is a crime that requires punishment under any communication Russia law.
Despite this classification, representatives of the Taliban participated in several forums conducted by Russia, as part of an effort to consolidate Moscow as an effective regional force.
After receiving a law last year, the court ruled in response to the request of the Russian prosecutor’s office, allowing the courts to suspend the official classification of the movement as a “terrorist organization”.
No country has recognized the “Taliban” government, which took over the power in August 2021, after the 20 years of war, after the US troops withdrew from Afghanistan in a chaotic manner.
But Russia is gradually working to increase relations with the movement, said President Vladimir Putin that it has now become an ally of terrorism last year.
Russia believes that it is necessary to work with “Taliban” when facing a major security threat from militant Islamic groups in a group of countries that extend from Afghanistan to the Middle East.
In March 2024, gunmen killed 145 people in a concert hall outside Moscow, in an attack on ISIS.
US officials said they had intelligence information, suggesting that ISIS in Afghanistan’s company, Khorasan State, was responsible for the attack.
The Taliban said it was working to remove the militant company in Afghanistan.
Western diplomats have made efforts to gain more international recognition based on changing his path on women’s rights.
The Taliban girls and women were prevented from joining secondary schools and universities and imposed restrictions on their movement without Mahram. The movement confirms its dignity on women’s rights, but in accordance with the strict commentary of the Islamic law.
