Gujarat: 7,378 seats in these private elementary schools are vacant, good opportunity for parents – Private Primary School Admissions Right to Gujarat Education

Under the RTE (Right to Education) Act in free private elementary schools in Gujarat, 25 per cent of weak and lower classes are enrolled in class. Under this Act, a total of 7,006 children have been allowed in the second round of the admission process. The parents of these children must complete the admission process by going to their respective school by going to their respective school by May 28.

7,378 seats are still empty

After the second round, many places are empty. There are a total of 7,378 seats in private schools across the state. The main reason for this is not to choose the school by parents. The middle detail of the vacant seats is as follows:

  • Gujarati Medium: 728 Places
  • English Media: 4,564 seats
  • Hindi Medium: 1,920 seats
  • Other Ways: 166 seats

In the first round, 86,264 children got admission

In the academic year 2025-26, 94,798 seats were provided in Gujarat’s 9,814 private elementary schools. According to the rules in the first round of the admission process – a total of 86,264 children were given admission – the school and other qualification located in the periphery of 6 -km. Of these, 80,453 children confirmed their admission by submitting documents within the IT Ravas.

Why did the second round process happen?

After the first round, 14,345 seats were empty. In order to provide opportunities for maximum and more disadvantaged class children in these seats, the second round admission process was launched under the RTT. For this purpose, 89,445 parents were unable to get admission in the first round from May 15 to May 17.

Using this event, 45,695 parents selected the school new, and the remaining 43,750 parents selected schools selected in the first round.
