IPSS is solidarity. Not everyone can have the same idea about this human value or its practice equal. Until now, I have not found a concept that he also defined with this human value as Saint John Paul II formulated it when writing: “This (solidarity), and therefore, is not a feeling of mysterious sympathy or superficial tenderness of the evils that many people suffer from near or distant.

On the contrary, the company and the perseverance is the determination to seek the public good; That is, for each of them, because we are all really responsible for everyone. (1). Of course, it is not just a feeling, but a commitment, nor a simple opportunity to show the practice of “touches and jogging”, but the possibility of serious participation with people and causes. Solidarity is the unambiguous expression, without any concerns and hesitation, and thinking with knowledge of reality and performance, with the necessary diversification, in preference for ignition. To give more strength to solidarity is to justify their need for a sense of responsibility People should have each other.
It is not known, almost not, the number of volunteers in Portugal. In addition to not being mandatory for the National Institute of Statistics to conduct a regular study of this sector, we have no concept yet, with a minimum, by mutual consent from the volunteers. Therefore, partial statistics appear. Certainly reviewing the basis of continuous volunteering will cut this embarrassment. What is known to be one of the countries that we are in the tail of Europe in terms of organized volunteering.
In this difficulty line, I don’t also know the number of ordinary volunteers who cooperate in our IPSS. What I am trying to do is just a way for the number of IPSS volunteers. There are 5665 IPSS or equivalent.
If we say that all members of social agencies are volunteers, and this is not the case in some cases, and that all IPS have the three main members, which have not been found in some situations, such as the social centers of the parish, which are rejected by the presence of general assemblies, and even if both the association, we will bring everything, 205.181vablantaries.
I reaffirm that this number is just taking simple samples and I am sure that it will make mistakes by defect. However, it is already important. However, I have a perception that it is much lower than those who donate their time to replace jobs (that must be created), it can enhance the dedication of employees who arrange, although it is not enough, sometimes it is not enough to do everything they want. Just mention how important it is to contribute countless volunteers at the most severe Kofid time. In addition, they may make suggestions for activities that are very useful for social-cultural and psychological development for the recipients and even workers.
I realize that there are some concerns about integration, daily institutions, and people who sometimes do not know each other. For this, there should be someone with a responsibility for managing volunteering. Every IPSS must have a volunteer manager who will be responsible for: seeing the areas that will be necessary to cooperate with volunteers; He submitted a preliminary questionnaire that, once you check it, one can follow an interview by a psychiatrist (if he is in the institution) or by the manager himself; Monitor and evaluate the early working hours of the volunteer; Solve the small tensions that may exist …
As with general knowledge, there is a Portuguese Federation of Volunteering- CPV. The presence of two organizers is supervised by two organizations, which cover most of CNI and the Portuguese Mercy Union. CPV is available to help create or activate the volunteer sector whenever it is requested. As happened in other situations, that, with this, with the cooperation of other companies that work very well in this field.
In Portugal, volunteering is spread in several areas. The most expressive is culture, entertainment and sports. However, it is very attractive to environmental defense, animal protection, international cooperation and local development. But we should not forget that its composition is solidarity.
