10 trips from San Miguel de Alende Industrial Park

The group in MNT reports on business and economic activities in the country almost every day. I read and research myself for several hours a day. So why is it very difficult to understand what really happens in the economy now? The latest threats of the Trump administration’s fees have not helped uncertainty, but the real economic indicators are also confusing. I explain.

We recently reported Mexico reached the record level of foreign direct investment in 2024 – It’s good. But 8%of that registration level, very low percentage than usual, new investment of new companies – this is not good. We have reported Rapid growth of occupation in industrial parks across the country – Another positive. But we have also recently reported that low GDP for Mexico for 2025 has been reduced by less than 1%. We have reported in companies like Nemeg And Nisan The fee rate is affected by uncertainty and may move some products from Mexico, while the reports of companies are different NetflixOvarian NestleOvarian Chandantor And Amazon Each recently announced $ 1 billion in the country.

Despite the uncertainty created by payment threats, a variety of companies continue to invest in Mexico. (Presidenia)

What really happens? How bad are things economically? Or how good are they ?? To help you put some light on these questions, I decided to do my own market research by one day at an industrial park near the park’s commercial director, San Miguel de Alende, a one -day deduction.

Since there are hundreds of industrial parks with thousands of companies across the country in Mexico, I realize that my little “an industrial park market research” is not statistically significant. But if you say, I think about what I have seen and helps to understand what is happening in the rest of the country.

San Miguel Business BalagoneAs the industrial park is known, it is not a common one, but what will the park be again? This SMA industrial park is at the small end of the spectrum, and a total of 200 seats have spread in two phases.

It is not in the northern parts of the US border, but it is not in the southern parts of the country. It is not in a big city, but rather 15 minutes from SMA and 30 minutes from the fastest growing Qurtaro. It is located on a large highway and is not connected to a railway line. If any, my first reaction is, “Why do any industrial company want to be here and there are hundreds of options elsewhere?”

Beyond beauty and culture, what should San Miguel really need to provide an industrial park? Lots, it turns out. (Valeemb22/cc by-sa 4.0)

My top 10 trips from arrival are as follows:

1. Things available for energy. The SMA industrial park is blessed by uniform and available force. As we have often stated, this is not the rule in many parts of the country. There are industrial parks in the northern part of the country that have strong demand from companies to companies, but lack of energy supply. The lack of available and green energy has undoubtedly a brake in many areas. President Claudia Shinebam has recently provided a comprehensive energy program This will attract more private investment in this sector, more green energy solutions and eventually more distribution. It cannot come fast in the eyes of many companies.

2. The lack of energy should take many industrial parks in their hands. The SMA park I visited is currently creating a second sub -power plant to suit the highest energy, as well as creating a natural gas line network in the park and connecting it to the natural gas phase quickly to provide other energy options.

3. Water things. This particular park is not especially water-intensive industries, but water is still the most important concept. The water used in the park does not come from urban use, but rather from the on-site well. Companies in the park pay nearly US $ 4 per cubic meter for water. To look forward to this, the water price in a common industrial park in the United States is less than 50% to 75%. Considering high water costs in many Mexican industrial parks, many companies establish an-site recycling or recycling solutions to most of their industrial water use. Jonia tells me that almost every new company is establishing this kind of systems. One of the new customers in the park, the food manufacturer, considers their special water needs and establishing a special water line.

4. The plurality of the businesses is heartbreaking. In this small industrial park in the middle of the country, companies that are already dedicated to the manufacture of pharmaceutical products, food, plastic auto parts, aluminum auto parts, data centers, individual boats and more. Yes, you read correctly, even the water transport vehicles used around the world are being built in the mountains of central Mexico!

5. A country of origin of parent institutions is equally impressed. Again, in this small park, parents are from Mexico, the United States, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Brazil and China.

6. The Chinese are coming. The relatively small percentage of foreign direct investment has been written about coming directly from China. But a visit to this park gave the Chinese a wreck about another way to get market access – though acquisition. Two different European -based companies located in the SMA Park have recently been purchased by China -based companies. I thought many of the Chinese people I often see in the SMA were visiting tourists, and perhaps they were associated with companies in the park instead.

7. The park uses a lot of people, but the profile of the hiring of the hiring changes quickly. Currently, more than 6,000 people work in the park. Many companies already have an increased automation and robotics, and new companies are planning significant automation. They will still hire a significant number of employees, but will seek education and experienced people in engineering, computer and robotics.

8. Every company in the park is expanding. New production lines are added, new high -tech or high efficiency equipment is being installed, and plant expansions are being built. None of these are considered “new” foreign direct investment, but it certainly helps to create more work and production.

9. Data centers are becoming the next app. As for the rapid increasing demand for calculation, it is very important to be close to the data centers and the demand for data central services is increasing. Currently two separate data center customers in the SMA Park have created data centers in the park. I will repeat it: this small park in the SMA is going to have two separate data centers!

10. The most wonderful plus is the proximity to the San Migg. Despite not near a large airport, there is no doubt that UNESCO is near the World Heritage City, SMA. The park is only 15 minutes from the Central SMA, in fact it has vineyards on both sides. Executives from abroad can imagine how lunch in the vineyards and how to experience dinner and shelter in the city of SMA, so that the journey is a little extra special.

I saw the day trip to the park was a spectacular one. When I visit the SMA Park at the ground level, I was a little doubtful about the direction and ability of the Mexican economy, despite the news headlines, we gave us a mixed news. We hope that the payment issue will be resolved quickly, and the Mexican government offers sensible privileges for more energy and water repetition investments. With the right economic leadership, I see a very bright future for the industry in the country in the next year.
