The mayor of Affiro is characterized by the army with a first -class advantage
The mayor of Aveiro (CMA), Jose Ribao Estefiz, was dictated on Friday, May 16, with the medal of Dr. The award was delivered by the army chief of army, General Eduardo Mendes Verao, at a ceremony held at the 10th Infantry Regiment in Avero.

Discrimination is recognized by the strong institutional and personal relationship between the mayor of Aveirense and the Portuguese army, while highlighting their constant presence and active support for the activities of the 10th pedestrian regiment, headquartered in the city. Over the years, Ribau Esteves participated and cooperated with various initiatives, from sporting events such as sand race, military celebrations, seminars and other official works.
The army emphasizes that the CMA president showed “indisputable availability”, and translated into a direct participation “with the army of the regiment (…) in various events and activities that were developed in the municipality of Aveiro, organized, organized or supported by the city council.”
Among the aforementioned examples are the Dunas De São Jacinto Festival, which includes the aerial exhibition and the Ultraleves meeting, as well as walking, guidance tests and public parties, and initiatives that obtained the decisive support of the municipality and the “extraordinary personal performance” of the mayor.
Another gesture of great importance was the perimeter of the space in the home of the municipality of citizenship, in the city center, to operate the army’s public service office. This cooperation has contributed to strengthening support for the family of the military family and recruitment.
The Portuguese army also emphasizes the “high efficiency” of Jose Ribo Estevies, in addition to “the moral values of limit, altruism and the spirit of the mission”, and highlights its role in achieving the Army Day in Avero – an amazing moment that allowed the institution “in the historical and cultural plan and within the orange society.”
This award translates the army’s recognition through solid and permanent cooperation with the city council. It is also a clear sign of the importance of work that has been developed together for appreciation and strengthening relations between society and the armed forces.
