Silk Production in Uttar Pradesh – 400 metric tons of silk production increases the income of UP, rural women and farmers

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government has set an important goal to take silk production to new heights. Under this scheme, the state’s rural livelihood mission is to link 7,500 group members with silk production in the annual action plan of 2025-26. This initiative is a big phase to create rural employment production and realize the dream of self -disciplined India.
50 thousand women will be included in the next five years
To increase silk production, the government has devised a strategy to ensure intensive implementation in 15 districts this fiscal year. Training, modern technology and financial assistance are provided in these districts so that silk farmers and producers can compete for the global market. This effort of the Yogi government is an attempt to connect the traditional industry with new technology and innovations, which strengthens the rural economy.
To increase women’s participation in silk production, the state rural livelihoods have already entered into a memorandum of understanding between the mission and the silk department. According to the agreement, a goal is set to connect 50,000 members in 5000 female groups over the next five years with silk production and industry.
Priority for rural women in silk production
CM Yogi has given priority to strengthen the rural youth and women’s scheme. Seed, equipment and marketing assistance are provided to groups associated with silk production, which increases their income. This phase helps to promote silk production under the ODOP (One District, One Product) Scheme, which gives new identification to the traditional crafts of the state.
28 times in silk exports in the last 8 years
The annual silk production in the state is 400 metric tonnes and consumption has reached 3,500 tonnes. The Prime Minister’s parliamentary constituency is very demanding in Varanasi, where it is included in the Chief Minister’s ODOP scheme. This year’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the state’s self -esteem in silk production, “Rampam Vikas Yojana”. In the last 8 years, silk exports have increased 28 times. The scheme helps to take silk production in the state to new heights.
A big character of ‘ration sakis’
According to data from the Silk section, so far 1050 female groups have been connected to silk production so far. In every block, ‘Reshm Sakhis’ and Black Mission are being trained. Silk production, thread preparation, cloth weaving and capable of selling finished products are technical training, making women itself financially itself. This phase of the government not only creating employment opportunities but also promoting environmentally friendly production. The Yogi government’s goal is to double the grip exports in the next five years, which gives a new speed to the state economy.
