Promoting cooperation with DECO, under the Consumer Support Office (GAC) from S. João Da Madeira, which was created in 2020, the municipality signed in addition to the protocol with this association, given its inclusion in GAC of the housing and energy counter. The goal is to ensure free support and consultations in these issues, as well as developing procedures and projects that aim to information and training consumers in this context.

This document was signed last Friday by the mayor of S. João Da Madeira, Jorge Volos Cicerra, and the head of Deco, Miguel Gomez, in a session held in the shoe museum, and the participation of the Council Irene Gapewaris, responsible for the consumer support zone in Totarki.
By following this official act, support for citizens will be provided by accessing housing, rights to rent, housing units, purchase and sale, real estate mediation and contracts. With regard to energy aspect, information about bills, energy efficiency and equipment acquisition can be found, among other aspects, in the new meter, taking into account the privacy of both consumers and their families.
For the mayor, Jorge Volos Cicerra, “This is another important progress to support consumers in S. Joao Da Madeira, a field that gave the municipality special attention in 2020, the year in which the Consumer Support Office was established, and to contribute to citizens in knowing their rights and enforcement when purchasing products or services.”
From April, the housing and energy meter will be included in the GAC of S. João Da Madeira, with two face -to -face care per month (previously monthly, one face to the front and one virtual understanding) and four workshops on housing and energy, in addition to 20 school sessions, 4 general and participation in the consumer week.
