OVAR enhances the support of animal protection societies
In the context of the policies of promoting municipal animal health and care, OVAR City Council approved global financial support for more than 115,000 euros of the Apedo -ovar local animal protection Association and Maranemal to support and eradicate animals.

This amount represents an increase of more than 79 thousand euros compared to the support granted in 2024, which enhances the municipality’s recognition of the relevant role that these associations play in protecting dogs and cats in the province.
APDO will receive 21,622.50 euros, of which 16,000 euros for normal activity, 5,000 euros for beginner activities, are sterilizing rock animals, and 622.50 euros to support investment, in this case, to reshape the squares.
Maranimal will be supported by 94,011.95 euros, where 12,000 euros are designed for normal activity, and 10,000 euros for novice activities, that is, to sterilize rock animals, and it will be 72,011.95 euros.
“Animal protection is the collective responsibility and priority of the municipality of OVAR. These associations have the development of basic work and a great impact on our society. Promoting the support now is clear evidence of our commitment to animal welfare and with all those who assume this task on Earth,” says Domingos Silva, head of the OVAR team.
This support is suitable for the municipal strategy to enhance public health and livelihood with animals, which enhances a more comprehensive, solid and sustainable area.
