Murshidabad violence: West Bengal Governor C.V. Anand Bose met with a man and his son’s family members and other victims who were violently killed during the Waqf law in Murshidabad district on Saturday and assured them all possible assistance. Bose first met the family members of the deceased Hargovind Das and Chandan Das on Saturday, and he first met their demands in the Jabarabad area of Shamzharganj.
After meeting the family of the deceased, Bose told reporters, ‘I will look at the demands. Three to four recommendations have been received. He has called for the use of PSF in the area. I will raise the matter to the appropriate authorities. Certainly some definitive actions will be taken. I also shared with them the number of ‘peace room’ (Raj Bhavan’s helpline).
Members of the deceased family members fell to the governor’s feet and begged for justice. After talking to the locals in the Tulian Bazaar area, Bose said, ‘I told them (the victims) to talk to me without any time. They need justice and they get justice.
He said Bose would personally see it on the demands of local people in Bedbona in Tulian and Shamzherganj.

He said, ‘People have many demands. First, they need justice. Second, they prefer peace, and third, they prefer the permanent camp of BSF there. All of this will be taken very seriously and will be raised before the authorities who are concerned about the appropriate action. I personally take it for the people of Bengal. ‘Bhaktan’
However, he refused to comment on whether or not to visit the district affected by the riots. Asked about the condition of the affected areas, Bose said that although the situation was controlled after the sorting of the central forces, the locals are still panic. He said, ‘After the arrival of the central forces, the state forces are now working on the United. The situation is still under control. People’s feelings have been injured. Bose said, ‘I will definitely be in contact with the Chief Minister, the Government of India and all the officials. It is my duty to report to the authorities about what I have seen in the area and what my opinion is. In the meantime, part of the villagers protested in the Bedbona of Jabarabad, blocked the road and demanded that the governor had come back and asked them to come back. An official said that Bose then returned to Bedbona and discussed with the villagers and convinced him.
At least three people, including a father and a son, died in the violence that erupted during the Waqf (amendment) law from April 8 to 12 in these Muslim dominant areas. Since then, more than 274 people have been arrested in this connection. The official said that before he started his arrival to Shamzharjan, Bose spoke to some members of the families of the victims of the Faraka Guest House where he was staying. On Friday, Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee asked the governor to postpone the tour. Despite this, Bose went to Malta and fled from the violent areas of Murshidabad district and met people living in a temporary refugee camp.
