More than 150 school members are participating in the launch of three sea turtles that have been recovered on the coast
Cabildo de Fuerteventura, through the Ministry of Environment, directed by Carlos Rodriguez, released three Bobas Turtles (Carita Carreta) in Blauma Blanca, in the municipality of Porto del Rosario. This loose is fragmented in the environmental education project “Return to the homeland”,

On this occasion, more than 150 students from SEIPS, La Oliva and El Castillo, who had the opportunity to learn about the process of recovering these threatened species and accompanying them upon their return to the sea.
The three turtles were treated at the Moro Marine Turtle Recovery and Conservation Center after rescuing them in different parts of the Majorera coast. The reasons for admission are directly related to human activity, such as registration with marine garbage or accidental capture with the hook.
The first turtle, which was accepted on February 5 after its appearance, was cut off in Cofte, a severe recording of the right front fin, forcing its amputation.
The second turtle, which was rescued on March 21, on the beach of the sea, reached the center with signs of drought and fracture on the left front. The end of the limb was also necessary due to the damage caused.
The third sample was delivered by a sailor in Corralejo Dock on April 7. A hook was discovered in the esophagus, which was extracted by surgery.
The Minister of Environment, Carlos Rodriguez, has highlighted the importance of these activities in “educating environmental values from an early age and enhancing our respect for our marine animals, more and more threatening the impact of waste and bad practices.” He also thanked the cooperation of the teachers, technical staff and citizens who informed the presence of infected animals.
