Fair agrees to support 100,000 euros for the Red Cross
The Santa Maria da Vera City Council has approved the appointment of extraordinary support of 100,000 euros for the Portuguese Red Cross – the blood center to gain two emergency and relief cars, and to strengthen 16,500 euros for humanitarian and social assistance measures. In order to acquire the emergency and rescue vehicles, which are essential and origin to enhance the emergency state before hospitalization of the Feirense community, the municipality agreed to 80 % unusual support of the total expected amount, with a maximum of 100,000 euros.
Regarding the municipal support for the measures of humanitarian and social assistance, the city council agreed to an extraordinary amount of 16,500, which will join the amount stipulated in the multi -year protocol in force (13500 euros), with a global amount of 30 thousand euros for 2025.
It should be noted that the emergency structure is one of the main pillars of the work of this organization, which allows to face different emergency and assistance situations, whether every day, an exception, resulting from disasters, accidents or crises, and providing responses immediately and effectively, without forgetting the necessary prevention.
Through a 27 -year -old community service, the Portuguese Red Blood Center provides assistance and social support for the population, as well as actual intervention in the areas of physical and mental health, volunteering and training.
At the same council session, the municipal executive authority also approved the appointment of global financial support at a value of 6500 euros to António Alves Amorim Primary School and Santa Maria Da Feira Secondary School (3,250 euros each one), designed for appreciation from the celebration of the twenty -fifth anniversary, which includes participation in students and former teachers, at one time.
