The Enforcement Directorate told the Delhi court on Wednesday that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, the so -called “land work fraud,” was given the necessary approval to prosecute. The ‘fraud’ took place when Lalu Prasad was the Union Railway Minister. On May 8, Lalu Prasad has approved the Lalu Prasad’s trial in the case of money laundering, according to the ED court. President Murmu granted compulsory permits under Section 197 (1) of the Criminal Procedure Act, 197 (Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023).
The hearing will take place on May 23
On Wednesday, Special Judge Vishal Gogne decided on May 23 to hear the case. The judge said, “Ed has filed an application for approval from the Interior Ministry of the Government of India to sue Lalu Prasad Yadav. It is listed on 23 May 2025.”

Prosecutor Manish Jain Ed appeared in court. The case was examined by ED. Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav (76), his son and former deputy chief minister of the state, Tejashvi Yadav and other family members filed an allegation paper in August last year. Earlier, in January 2024, the ED filed its first charge sheet against Amit Katal, a partner of Lalu Prasad’s family, and other family members of Prasad.
