Estarreja: Supports APRA families with deteriorating housing
It will support the 2024 version of the House Best program, dedicated to improving the deteriorating housing of the needy Estarreja residents, nine families, with a total financial support of 63,000.00 euros.

This year, 16 applications were submitted. The program, which was launched annually in September, aims to support citizens residing in the province who need to implement conservation or improvement in their homes, but they have no financial ability to do so. Financial support is not recovered and is intended for those who meet the requirements specified in the regulations.
In the last three versions (2021, 2022 and 2023), the program was established by the Estrage City Council 23 families, with a maximum value of 7,000.00 euros per family, totaling 161 017.69 euros.
In 20 years of “Best House”, between 2004 and 2024, 300 families were supported and translated into municipal support for more than a million euros.
Casa Melhor was necessary to improve the quality of the lives of weak families, resulting from the aging process, material or visual disability and low income, reflecting the preservation of their homes.
The work funded by the program contributed to resolving moisture, weak isolation, electrical installations, water, access and energy efficiency, and providing better conditions of comfort and safety for the beneficiaries.

Local housing strategy
“Dear Housing for All” is the purpose of the municipality of Astariga, whose strategy agreed to local housing, framed on the first right, in March 2022, after concluding a financing agreement designed to generate new housing solutions.
The first housing access program – to support the enhancement of housing solutions for people who live in unworthy housing conditions and who do not have a financial ability to support the cost of access to appropriate housing. As part of this strategy, the municipality last year was rehabilitated last year 3 social housing blocs located in the presence of Teixigueira, in investing about half a million euros, benefiting 120 people.
