Portugal goes to the legislative elections early in May 18. once again. These are the fourth elections in only 6 years. It cannot be denied that at this time, health is more important. But there is no opinion study on the topics that people give priority, which do not include health as one of their main interests.

In fact, they are right. If it is true that public health service has done a lot to put healthy indicators at its best in the world, it is also correct that there is still a lot to do. It is important to address the continuous inequality in financing industry, while ensuring that global access is truly health care. At the same time, it becomes necessary to improve the quality of services constantly without neglecting the economic and environmental sustainability of the system.
Consequently, those who are committed to health are from everyone and everyone have to provide serious responses to the problems presented by health. It is necessary that responses to health challenges be exceeded and in vain of rapid solutions or reactivating models tested, while structural problems are still existing and getting worse.
We need a mother and child health team. What is happening today, with pregnant women in a state of total security with regard to access to care, cannot continue in Portugal, in the third decade of the twenty -first century. These are the thousands of health receptions for the mother who have become unstable, and a lot of births that were made without circumstances. Nothing deserves to cry to increase the mother’s deaths, if we do nothing to reduce it.
Problems are similar in child health, and they are exacerbated in areas where access to primary health care is very incomplete: the capital area of Lisbon or Garv. Those who are urged children can emphasize: There are many children whose parents are forced to resort to emergency service for health monitoring, in order not to respond to primary health care. It is not healthy, sustainable or desirable.
Another topic should be a priority for the future government. I am talking about promoting health. In this short government, unfortunately, health promotion left the Ministry of Health and was a hostage to the Ministry of Agriculture and the interests of companies. It was a good case study on the malignant effect of commercial health determinants, but it is bad for our health. The future government should be fully committed to healthy reinforcement and disease prevention, and this means not to attract alcohol consumption, or reduce the importance of food assessment of food.
Finally, there is no health without focusing on fairness and a approach focused on social determinants. Without seeking to solve the serious housing crisis, which increases month after month, we will not be able to reach all our health capabilities. Without giving the correct incentives in cities that enhance physical activity, we will remain European heroes from physical activity. They are not individual and empty options, but as a result of a system that has been established on inequality. There is courage and vision to change it.
