Election of the new Pope – promising hope

I live these days with comfortable hope. This feeling stems from the conviction that the election of the new Pope cannot fail to take into account the twelve years of the fruitful and prophetic fans. About this fertility has already been said and written in recent days. Not all opinions are an agreement. I always try to respect the opinion of others who think differently from me.

I have real friends who do not recognize Catholic and others who are not believers. I was never worried about changing their options. But I never hidden. I admit that I am talking more than my experience with the situations in which injustice is repeated and helped me deepen the Christian faith that teaches and gives meaning to the worship proposed by my religious domains. Believe this is true: People in poverty or social exclusion were a very strong strength to live my faith completely.

Imagine the enthusiasm I lived by Pontef Francis. He was the greatest prophet of peace and statesman in the first barracks of this century. I read the signs of the times with unique intelligence, but also with the tenderness of the heart and the wisdom of the heart. But I do not hope that the next Pope is its cloning. As Francis, who has unique sources that direct his positions and decisions the Bible and the social thought of the Church. Certainly, traditions must be taken into account, but without forgetting that they started with the experiences of the first Christian societies described in the Acts of the Apostles.

I also hope that the Pope, with his privacy, will continue the desires of his predecessor. He will know that the last years of Francis have been very painful for him. Many efforts made more than 60 continuous armed conflicts in the world, with a special interest in the slaughter that occurs in the wars launched by Russia and the destruction of the Gaza Strip. In addition, Trump publishes global economic conflicts around the world. They are due to the measures aimed at defending the “joint house”. The world passes through transformations, such as the latest automatic progress and artificial intelligence, as social inequality will be highlighted.

Catholic Christians cannot be indifferent to all this, because it is nothing more than necessary to remember that “joys, hopes, sorrows and the anguish of men today, especially the poor and all who suffer, are also joys and hopes, sorrows and the anguish of Christ, and there is no true human truth that does not find resonance in their hearts.” (1).

It is important to grow increasingly the Catholic Christians in the transformation of earthly facts, which are “evangelical images of salt, light and yeast, although they refer to all Jesus’ students, who have a specific application for ordinary believers insert and sharing for the spread of the Bible.

This learning is done with the construction of the Senodal Church. We know that this does not happen by decree and that it is practical. However, this process cannot be very slow so that we are not an example of the church that is in fact the people of God that goes side by side, as the employees themselves do not distinguish from the shovel, but all of them are united in diversity cooperating so that there are signs of the kingdom of God already among us. I would like the new Pope to pay special attention so that there will be, in harmony with episcopal conferences, that there be clear signs of the desecration of the church required by Francis.

The new Pope of this continuity is to solve the problems raised in two sessions of the Synod on the Synod. Because Francis has left us, they cannot be secondary in the agenda of the new Pope and the Church in general.

Like Francis, I hope that your successor will be, even if you are not called Francis, do not give up the yearning to a desire for a poor church and the poor and dare say to the poor, whether from the regional or existential parties. It will be an illustrative step that the church is effectively for everyone, everyone, everyone. It should be noted that there are still many difficulties so that the preferential option for the poor is a reality. I am waiting for the comfort of hope to appoint the new Pope, because, like me, many feel convinced that any retreat on Francis was disappointment for those who, in the world, began to see an oasis of hope in the church.
