Among the newly appointed members are Pankaj Kumar Mishra, a member of the Nuclear Power Authority (Finance), and Sanjay Bahadur, the Chief Director of Income Tax (Training) in Delhi. G. Aparna Rao, the Chief Commissioner of the Income Tax for Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry regions (DDS) and G Aberna Rao, Chief Commissioner of the Corporation, 1, Bangalore, Karnataka and Goa. All four appointments were the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) in 1989. The Board plays an important role in preparing the policies of tax collection, handling tax evasion and implementing various direct tax reforms.
