Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan today held a weekly review meeting in Delhi about the progress of agriculture. Shivraj Singh gave the departmental guidelines from senior officials and reviewing the wholesale and retail values of the product. The meeting was attended by the Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi and other senior officials.

In view of the good yield of different products, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has instructed the authorities to make such arrangements, thereby collecting farmers and crops. For the summer seed season, by April 9, 2025, Paddy seeds have increased by 4.65 lakh hectares compared to the previous year, which increased from 27.33 lakh hectares to 31.98 lakh hectares. The area of Moong and Urad was up 1.65 lakh hectares and 0.61 lakh hectares respectively. The main states of the wheat are Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Bihar, in which the harvest is good.
The crop in the mature phase of all states
Today, the crop in all states has almost crossed the maturity stage. In such a situation, 52.40 lakh hectares sowing under summer crops in the same period last year, according to the situation until 4 April 2025, 60.22 lakh hectares. Of these, this year’s rice is planted under 31.98 lakh hectares, compared to 27.33 lakh hectares last year.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has also taken information about breeding from the authorities, according to 58.71 per cent of rabi seeds by April 4, 2025. 91%of pulses under the rabi crop 2024-25 are mainly Lathirus (96%), Moong (94%), Kulati (94%) 69.40%Sri food and coarse grains are mainly Tidal 95%; 87.02% oilseeds, mainly 90% of ropseed and mustard; 38% of wheat and 32.93% of the rice area were cultivated. In addition, Union Minister Shivraj Singh told officials that the availability of adequate input to the farmers should be confirmed and that all the fertilizer status was suitable at the meeting.
