Commonwealth Games Fraud: Delhi’s Roosa Avenue Court has accepted the Cup of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case of the 2010 Commonwealth Games. This decision has led to an end to allegations of money laundering in this 13 -year case.

The court canceled the investigation into the case of former Commonwealth Games organizing committee (OC) chairman Suresh Kalmathi, General Secretary Lalith Panot and other accused accused. During the hearing, the court decided that no charges were proven and that he had accepted the final report filed by the Enforcement Directorate for this reason.

What did the court say

Special Judge Sanjeev Agarwal said the CBI has already released the accused in the corruption, which has begun an investigation into the money laundering. During the hearing, the court said that the government failed to establish a crime under Section 3 of the BMLA. Despite the prudent investigation of ED, no crime has been established under Section 3 of the PMLA. Therefore, the court said there was no reason to continue the current ECIR, resulting in the final report filed by the ED.

CBI has shut down the case

The CBI has accused the organizing committee of losing Rs 30 crore as the illegal allocation of two important agreements to the Commonwealth Games. However, the CBI filed a final report in the case in January 2014 that no objectionable evidence had been revealed and that the allegations could not be proven.
