Cabildo de Fuerteventura promotes new craft workshops within the framework of the cramping project
All courses, which will be taught in May, June and July, are free and open to anyone interested
Cabildo de Fuerteventura, through consulting crafts, continues to enhance craft activity on the island through the tangle project. In cooperation with the Creative Craftsmen Association in Fortivura and with the support of various neighborhoods of the neighborhoods, workshops will be developed in May, June and July in the various municipality of Magicros, with the aim of preserving traditional technologies, enhancing training and bringing the crafts closer to citizens.
Lolina Negrín consultant asserts that through this initiative, Cabildo Insular seeks to maintain traditions between generations, provide new educational opportunities and creative development between the population. He says: “We call on all citizens to participate actively in these activities and discover the value of what is done by hand.”
Workshop programming
In this edition, 280 hours of training will be taught by craftsmen and craftsmen accredited in their trading, which were held in 14 workshops of 20 school hours that will cover topics, such as leather, macrami or fashion goods.
Among these scheduled activities is Almazuelas, such as starting patching, which will take place from 3 to 24 June at the Pájara Cultural Center. Likewise, programming includes many workshops for leather goods in different parts of the island such as Morro Jable, Valle De Santa Inés, Villaverde, or Tefía.
As for Macramé, citizenship will have the opportunity to explore this craft technique in different locations such as Lajita, El Durazno, Tarajalejo or Los Estancos
Canadian traditional fashion courses
The program has been completed with two sessions dedicated to traditional Canary fashion. One of them will be held at the Tetir Cultural Center, from June 4 to July 2. And the other, at the Tuineje Cultural Center, from June 3 to July 1. In addition, a dressing workshop is presented at the Casillas Del ángel Cultural Center, until June 30.
Persons interested in participation must contact neighboring societies in every city, responsible for the registration management. All configurations are free and open to anyone who is interested in learning or manually mastery of technologies.
