Akhilesh Yadav: Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav on Monday confirmed his support for caste census and reservation for disadvantaged and dalit communities. Speaking to the media, Akhilesh Yadav said that we are in favor of the caste census and that the disadvantaged and dalit people should be reserved. Also, the rest of the society should be booked. The struggle for the caste census is long, so the census does not take place because when it happens, all the questions are revealed. When asked if Muslims should have reservation, he said, “You all know that there is no reservation based on religion.” Yadav’s comment has come in the midst of political debate on social justice and positive action. Earlier, the Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav issued a similar statement in which the country’s true socio-economic situation would be known by the caste census. Ram Gopal Yadav told reporters that the real situation will emerge if the caste survey takes place. Currently, only a few people take all the benefits.
