Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Indian Pizza Sena (IPKF) monument in Colombo and paid tribute to the martyrs. The monument was built to commemorate the Indian soldiers who martyred the LTTE campaign against the LTTE. The names of the 1200 soldiers who were martyred between 1987 and 1990 at the IPKF monument were engraved in black marble.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Tamil community leaders in Sri Lanka on Saturday. He said many projects and initiatives launched during his visit would contribute to the progress of the community.

This is the fourth visit of Prime Minister Modi to Sri Lanka since 2014. At the same time, this is his first visit after taking over President Dissanayak. During his first official visit in December last year, the Sri Lankan president invited him to visit him. Sri Lanka considers Diganayak’s state’s arrival in bilateral relations with New Delhi as an ‘important moment’. Prime Minister Modi is now the first chairman of President Dissanayake.
During the visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given the highest honor of Sri Lanka’s Mithra Vibhushan. President Disanayake gave him this honor. This is the 22nd international honor given by Prime Minister Modi to a foreign nation.
