Various vegetables are planted here, including tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, cabbage, cauliflower, closed cabbage and chilli. But farmers are very concerned about these crops, which are fresh for a while, because there is not a single cold storage in the area, where they can store agricultural products and save vegetables and fruits. The vegetables here go to various cities and Mandi of Jharkhand, Bengal, Bihar, Odisha and Assam. But the farmers are not getting a fair price.
This year, the tomatoes sold 1 kg, which is much lower than the cost price. In such a situation, farmers have decomposed the production of tomatoes on this farm to avoid losing transport. The same situation is also with cabbage, which costs Rs 2 a kilo, in such a situation, farmers have done the same with cabbage and destroyed the crop on the farm.
Cold storage repeatedly started with demand
Since there is no large subzy market in the region, the crop is unable to reach the market immediately and is often sold at a low price when it comes to remote Mandis. In such a situation, farmers are trying to keep vegetables and fruit fresh
Many times, he told the local MLA and demanded cold storage and eventually gifted the MLA’s initiative and the Jharkhand Chief Minister Patmada was given a closed cold storage.
With the inauguration of cold storage, only fruits such as apples, grapes and oranges are stored here. A large number of farmers are resorting to saving fruits. In the coming days, when their crop is ripe and the market price is low, then they bring their crops and are placed in cold storage and sold at a high price.

5000 metric ton capacity
At the same time, Patmada Rajesh Kumar Agriculture Convener said that Patmada is a vegetable center. There is not a single cold storage in the area. Cold storage was made, but it was not managed, for the past 5 years, this year’s farmers’ vegetables have been damaged, then the government has started a cold storage in a hurry. It is a very large cold storage with a capacity of 5000 metric tons.
