US fails to lead in Ukraine Security Communication Committee

Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans told the Eurnews that the United States would no longer be headed by the Ukraine’s main ally group, known as the Ukraine Security Council (UTCG).
“The presidency was considered by Germany and the United Kingdom,” Brakelmans told EuroNus.
“It is good to be considered president. I think we are gathering regularly. The United States continues to participate,” he added.
“I think it is very important that we all have decided to pursue the UTCG, a company of more than 50 countries to support Ukraine.”
The UTCG, also known as the Ramstain Group, is a coalition of 57 countries (32 NATO member states and 25 other countries) and the European Union, which provides military equipment to Ukraine from large -scale invasion.
Under the guidance of former Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the role of the Ramstein group once played exclusively by the United States, but his successor Beat Hexed never headed him.
Since then, the UK and Germany have advanced, but it is not clear whether this is a temporary move so far.
Western sources initially said that the Joint President of the United Kingdom and Germany was a temporary move, while the Trump administration and the new group were well aware of the process.
The US Defense Secretary attended the meeting on Friday, but for video conferencing.
The move arises amidst many signs of the Trump administration that the US role in NATO is declining.
Western allies are also preparing to remove thousands of troops from Europe. Currently, 100,000 soldiers are parked in Central Europe in the United States.
In the event of such a announcement, he expects the United States to do so with the purpose of negotiating, and has all the allies of their plans.
“In the US, over time, if you decide to re -communicate with some resources to its own region – to protect the homeland – or the most important thing, we are doing it together,” he said.
“We need a shared plan, where they can change some resources. We can gradually take control as European countries.”
“But we have to keep the United States on the ship. They will continue to be necessary for our safety. It is for the benefit of the United States to keep NATO strong – that is what they always say.”
NATO’s US NATO delegation was contacted to comment on the matter.
