There are more reasons behind the recession of AI and Trump, but also the recession of the information technology sector: Sridhar Vampu

IT sector recession

AI and US President Trump’s charges: Joho founder Sridhar Wambi said on Friday that the technology (IT) companies’ poor quarterly results are not only the fees of the US President Donald Trump, but also the failure of the software industry.

In a post on social media site X, Wampu said, “My operating thesis: What we see is not just a rotational decline, but it is not only related to AI. There was a problem with the payment uncertainty. There was a lot of wrong with both products and services.”

Wampu said, “Unfortunately that we have accepted many inefficient characteristics in India. Our jobs are dependent on them. The IT industry has eliminated the skills that can be better for the production and infrastructure.”

He added, “We are now in the early stages of a long calculation. I believe that the next 30 years have no good guides. We are really at an important turn. We have to challenge our beliefs and think new.” Indian IT companies Tata Consultancy Services Limited, Infosys and Wipro have announced their fourth quarter and all year -old financial results this week, which has caused a weak approach to the market.

IT companies are stuck with fees, which have delayed new orders and project curves. Infosys, one of India’s top IT companies, recorded a 11.7 per cent decline in its integrated net profit in the fourth quarter of the fourth quarter of 2024-25, which was Rs 7,033 crore in the same quarter of last year.

However, Infosys’ revenues increased by about 8 per cent to Rs 40,925 crore annually, while it was Rs 37,923 crore in the same period a year ago. The company recorded a 21 percent operating edge, which is slightly lower than the 21.3 percent edge of the previous quarter, but more than 20.1 percent in the same quarter a year ago.
