The European Union works for the policy of “buy China” in the medical device market

Representatives of EU member states voted this week in support of Chinese restrictions on European manufacturers of medical equipment, confirmed the diplomatic evidence and to the European Union for the European Union.
The European Commission investigated and found “Clear evidence” China unreasonably prevented medical equipment made in its acquisition market in the EU.
The project refers to the first action implemented by the International Acquisition Tool (IPI) that came into effect in August 2022, designed to ensure reasonable access to the opportunities outside the EU companies.
Midweek accepted the project, but the details are expected to be published in the EU officials in the coming days.
“We really expect that the process of the international acquisition equipment can lead to a more significant conversation and progress with China, but unfortunately this has not happened,” says Oliver Pisasa, CEO of European Union Medical Devotees Association, Madek Europe.
The devil wants to see all the details before reacting, but the medical device emphasized that the EU and the creative commitment between the European Union and China.
“This sector is important to save and improve the lives of the people, to maintain essential health care infrastructure and provide important services. This is something that both parties have to consider.”
Increasing obstacles
EU companies have long struggled to access the Chinese market of public contracts, although China is one of Europe’s largest trade partners for medical equipment – 11% of exporting seats by 2022.
The Commission’s investigation is focusing on the Chinese Public Contract Act, which uses the so -called “China Buy” policy, with public companies to prioritize national products and services, with lower exceptions.
The investigation reports that EU manufacturers face a number of obstacles, including opaque approval organizations, discriminatory certification procedures, vacancies of national interest used to withdraw foreign competitors, and often European companies, including pressures on impossible prices.
One notable example: In the province of Canton, the number of “recognized” imported medical equipment in 2019 is just 46 in 2021, and the restraint for market access to EU companies.
Effects of UE-china relationships
China’s Chamber of Commerce responded with anxiety, a Post No Red X IPI measurements suggest that they send a “worried identity” to bilateral business relationships. In a subsequent report, the congregation argued that the IPI’s orientation use of use of use of the IPI would become a real business barrier, and urged the EU to review the need and the long -term impact of such activities.
These actions arise at the subtle moment of relationships between the EU and the China, which is currently a Diplomatic restart attempted. After years of friction, both areas intensified their commitment to managing long -term conflicts.
Much of this renewed conversation is a reflection of a change in global mechanics, including the Trump -era trade war and the vast tensions between the United States and China, which led to the most uniform approach to Brussels.
An important milestone next to this redefinition is the next confirmed U-China Summit, which will be held in Beijing in the second half of July 2025 in Beijing.
Despite the increased dispute of public contracts, a commission spokesman has reduced the concerns that IPI activities usually undermine trade relations: “We believe that there is a problem with the equality of the conditions of the public contracts: if these issues are not resolved, we will be forced to take action,” Raspareb said.
This Wednesday, the European Commissioner of Commerce, Marofevic, met with Chinese minister Wang Venta on the edge of the OCD minister’s council-the third meeting between them and the second person.
According to the Commission, conversations include a variety of important bilateral issues, as the two parties are working to ensure progress before the July summit.
