If Leo Tolstoy’s popular story ‘How much land does a man want?’ The Telangana government’s question was asked, perhaps its answer would have been ‘400 acres’. This is the government’s attitude towards the IT Park, which is to be built in the Kachibovali area of Hyderabad. The government says the project will invest 50,000 crores and 5 lakh jobs will be created. According to Chief Minister Revant Reddy, this growth is like ‘oxygen’ for Telangana, but the contradiction is that he tried to cut down Hyderabad’s green trees with JCP machines. It is like a surgical strike on nature.
The Supreme Court shows strict
This is a state land on paper, as stated to the Telangana High Court and the Supreme Court. Supporters of the government argue that it is the right of the government to make any decision on this land. The University of Hyderabad, near the Forest Department and both near the area, have no legal right in this regard, which is the government’s side.
But the law of the government is very weak. On March 4, the Supreme Court ordered all states to set up a special committee in six months and identify forest land and similar lands. Moreover, until then, the Government of India or any state will not take any action to reduce the forest. Environmental activists say that although there is no forest land in revenue records in this area of Kanja Kachibovoli, it is naturally like an ancient forest.
JCP went hard in the forest
No government can take away the rights from citizens that they should not raise their voice against the fall of the wind. No one wants Hyderabad to reach the situation like ‘now (polluted) Delhi is not far away. During the holidays at this time, the trees were indiscriminately harvested in the area, causing deer, snakes, peacocks and 232 other birds to be expelled from their homes.
This area is also the only house of a rare spider species called Mursia Hyderabaphensis. There are many types of lakes, caves, lawns, mud -living insects, shade rows, rocks and rare trees. According to the report, the JCP machines have so far destroyed the greenery of at least 100 acres.
The political rhetoric also intensified
Political parties may gain power for five years, but it is their duty to not make such decisions, making the earth a more barren for more generations. In 2004, Chandrababu Naidu government presented the same land to a private company called IMG Barada for sports infrastructure, but no work has been done for two years. In 2006, the Congress government abolished the allocation of YS Rajasekhar Reddy). The long -term case lasted, and finally in 2024, the Supreme Court ruled that the land belonged to the government. After this, it was evident that the university had no rights on the land.
Students and environmental workers say that enormous trees have been harvested, and this allegation also demonstrates images of Google Map. Political parties like the BRS and the BJP have also jumped on the issue. BRS has accused Revant Reddy of acting like a ‘real estate tan’. Apart from legal action, both parties have sought intervention from Union Forest and Education Ministers.
Great loss to the environment
However, there have been a lot of damage so far and it cannot be brought back. But the JCP machines will have to stand there now. Not only temporary stops, but permanent. This land requires an honest environmental impact assessment (EIA). If religious places are not teased from the real estate, why should the house of such rare creatures and rich biodiversity be destroyed?

Over the past two and a half decades, various governments have converted the western part of Greater Hyderabad into a concrete forest, where tall buildings stand instead of natural rocks. When barren land is available in the southern city of the city, the question arises as to why the ‘silicon valley’ of Hyderabad should be built only in this area. When it begins to run the real estate rule, it demonstrates that it is disastrous to both environment and infrastructure.
State committee
The BRS has announced that it will be returning to power in 2028, withdrawing the land and turning it into a largest environmental park in Hyderabad. Political charges and counter -welcomes will continue, but after the Supreme Court condemned, the government has got a tough lesson. This is because the government has now formed a panel of ministers with three members because two of them will negotiate with the alumni, students and other affected aspects of the University of Hyderabad.
Revant Reddy will become the responsibility of the government to protect these resources as the host of every natural resources in Telangana. Monitor lizard, owl, financial deer, peacocks and 40 thousand trees are equally necessary as a government minister or opposition student.
