Salman Rushdie Punching Case – Salman Rushdie Salled 25 Years of Prison

Hadi Mather, who was hit by a British-American writer Salman Rushdie with a knife, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on Friday. The attack took place in 2022 when writers in the United States delivered speeches from the platform. In February 2025, an arbitrator has punished Hadi in an attempt to kill.
Rushdie did not give a statement in court
In this attack, Booker -award -winning writer Salman Rushdie had an eye light. When the arbitration was sentenced to Hadi, Salman did not come to court during the trial. He sent a ‘affected impact report’ court. In this, he explained the situation of the attack, and he said that he was attacked with a knife 12 times, and then he felt that he was going to die.
The accused issued a statement on ‘independent expression’
The accused Hadi Mather said that before being punished, he described himself as innocent in court and said that Rushdie was hypocritical. Hadi said – Salman wants to insult others. He wants to be a deception and he wants to threaten the other. I don’t accept this.

Why did the court pronounce the maximum punishment?
According to the government, when Salman was attacked, there were about 1400 people. Mather was deliberately planned, thus affecting the community beyond not only Salman but also there.
However, the Security Court argued in court that criminal cases have not already been registered against Mather. Therefore, 12 years of sentence should be given. Media tests and international headlines affected the case.
Seven years in prison for injured colleague
