Pope Leo XIV in Fatima prefer pilgrims

They come from all parts of the country, dozens, and sometimes hundreds of kilometers. It is hours, hours, sometimes walking. Some have to make promises, others simply for devotion. There is only one thing that moves them: hope.
Jono Azavedo and friend Point Pedro Cottars come from Cantica, near Coimbatore, about 80 kilometers away from here. The last 15 kilometers of the path is barefoot: “Sometimes, it is footwear and earned strokes (bubbles). Thank God, I come barefoot, without a foot, without a foot, and there is no one bell on the feet. So who protects me,” he smiles, laughs, eurne.
When the sanctuary arrives, many people come to the knee last meter or roam. The Pilgrimage is very important and celebrates the first look of the virgin for three shepherds on May 13, 1917. This year, the celebrations are taking place after the new pope election, Lion XIV.
As for the qualities of the new pope, Jono Azadeto has no doubt: we will be the Pope. “He is a follower of Francisco and John Paul II. This will surprise many.”
“He is a pilgrimage Pope, like Francis,” says Point Pedro Kotas. “Both of them preferred Portugal. Robert Prevost has come here several times here. He will definitely be a pope.”
Prevost was the first choice to head for ceremonies
Prior to choosing the Pope, Prevost was the first choice to be chaired by this year’s festivals, and, as he agreed at a press conference, the President of the Portuguese Learia Bishop and the Portuguese Eposcopal conference. It turned out to be a Brazilian cardinal Jaim Springler.
Bishop Emeritus D. Arnelals said the Pope had been informal of Antonio Marto to visit the sanctuary.
Everyone’s desire to see Leo XIV heads is best, perhaps next year. Spanish priest Juan Carlos comes from Lopez to Lopez Dolido: “Yes, I imagine that (Yes, Leo XIV) will visit this sanctuary soon. About the new Pope, “I think the Holy Spirit can give us in these times. We are very happy with the Holy Father. We pray for him.
Fatima’s sanctuary is the most important Catholic pilgrimage in Portugal and one of the most important in the world. Leo XIV’s predecessors came here several times. Pope Francis was here twice, in 2017, in centuries, and in 2023, on the occasion of the world’s youth days.
This year, on the first day, celebrations have already hit the number of last year, and 270,000 people watch the traditional candle procession, which takes place from 12 to May 13.
