NEET and 2025: The Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court stays in the middle of the 2025 exam results. The Bench issued an interim order and ordered the National Trial Agency (NTA) not to publish the results until the next hearing. The order was made to a petition alleged that students were facing problems due to electricity failure at more than 12 exam centers in Indore during the exam.

In a petition filed by the students in the High Court, it was reported that the electricity was gone during the NEET-Oak examination held on May 5, 2025, as many candidates could not solve the NEET UG paper. Due to the lack of electricity, there was darkness in the exam centers, which is difficult to read and respond to students.
NEET choice is made in the light of candles
The petition filed by the court said that the electricity was gone at 3.30 pm at the Prime Minister Sri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 in the afternoon from 2 pm to 5 pm. Due to the lack of backup electrical system, candidates had to continue their choice in low light. Also, at 4.30 pm the candles were arranged for emergency light, and then only 30 minutes to complete the paper. The petition has requested a review or reasonable assessment for the victims affected. The petitioners have demanded that the selection be held in the affected centers.
The court sent NTA notice to NTA
The court said, “… The respondent failed to make the necessary arrangements for the petitioner who appeared on 04.05.2025. The court has issued a notice to the NDA, the Central Government, the Central Government, the Madhya Pradesh and the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board. The next hearing can be held after four weeks. This decision has been welcomed by students and parents.
The future of hundreds of medical students
The petitioner’s advisor said that the future of hundreds of students is in danger due to the reduction of power and that this action of the court is for the benefit of them. At the same time, the NTA has yet to issue any official report in this regard. Some student organizations have demanded that the list of affected centers be made public and transparency.
