Mahavir Jayanthi 2025: The festival of Mahavir Jayanthi is celebrated at Saitra Shukla Treothashi. Mahavir Jayanti is the most important festival of Samana religion, which is celebrated as Mahavira’s birthday. It was the 24th and the last Tirthankar of Samana religion. Ahimsa- In every situation, he has given a message to stay away from violence. He said no one should hurt even by forgetting.
The truth is at- The person associated with the intelligent and the truth, crosses the hard path like death. That is why he always encouraged people to speak the truth.
Andyay- Those who follow the Astay do not accept any object without permission in any form. Such people are always controlled in life, and only accept the same thing that is offered to them automatically.
Celibacy To follow this theory, the samanas must follow the qualities of purity and control, in which they are away from any erotic acts.
Aparigraha- It is believed that by practicing Aparigraha, the spiritual consciousness of the Samanas develops, and that they keep the distance from the physical objects and joys of the world.
How the festival is celebrated
In front of Mahavir Jayanthi, Jain Dharmavalambi takes out Prabhathberi in the morning. After that, make a journey of a benefit with a large procession. After this, Mahavir Swami is anointed with gold and silver layers and is supplied in the flag peaks. Mahavira’s birth anniversary is celebrated with luxury by organizing many religious programs throughout the day by the Jain Society.
