Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakeem and Police Commissioner Verma visited the site and inspected the fire.

Responding to the incident, West Bengal Congress leader Subhankar Sarkar criticized Kolkata Municipal Corporation. The government said to Ani, “This is a tragic incident, a fire. Many people are trapped in the building. There is no security. I don’t know what the company is doing.”
