Kapil Sibal has arguments in the Supreme Court regarding petitions against Waqf law

Investigation against Waqf Act in the Supreme Court
On the heroing Waqf law in the Supreme Court: The Supreme Court has begun an hearing on petitions against the Waqf (Amendment) Act in 2025. Leaders like Ayami leader Azaduddin Owaisi have reached the court here. The Supreme Court has asked the parties to consider two points, including whether the matter should be sent to the High Court. Kapil Sibal started the debate in court. Sibal said the new law is a violation of religious freedom. This is a violation of the Art 26 of the Constitution. Sibal said there are many shortcomings in the new law. What will happen, this government will decide. In the new law, non -Muslims are placed in the Waqf group.
Sibin’s arguments
Sibal said, the time limit for the dispute was not fixed. The pre -protected monument that is implemented by the Activated Act cannot be Waqf. In the old law, the Central Waqf Council was only Muslim members. But in the new law, the religious rights of 200 million people of Parliament have been violated by keeping non -Muslims. At the Waqf Council, the government official has decided if it is an officer, and it is against the constitution. Waqf’s alleged government property is not considered Waqf property before and after the implementation of the law.
The many rules of the Waqf Amendment Act
Of the many applications filed in the Supreme Court, the constitution of many of the Waqf Amendment Act is valid. Recently, in the last days of the budget session, the bill was passed from both houses of parliament. Muslim organizations, clergy, civil society and opposition parties oppose the law. Through the bill, they blame the government that the government wants to seize Waqf property, while the government says it will improve the administration and operation of Waqf assets and bring transparency.
