Judge PR Kaai: Justice Bhushan Ramakrishna Kawai (Justice PR Kawai) Today we are going to swing as the 52nd Chief Justice of India. Born in Amravati
Born on November 24, 1960, Judge Kavai was born in the Freesarbura area of Amravati. His father R.S. Gavai, a strong man in Ambedkaride politics, dreamed of reading the law. His father R.S. Kavai confirmed that his children were raised with discipline. His wife, Kamtadeai, a former schoolteacher, focused on teaching the value of hard work to Yuva Bhushan.
BR Kawai studied at the Marathi-month school in most of his childhood, and mostly sitting in classless classes. He advanced by fighting with financial problems. Another inspiration to him, Dr. BR Ambedkar, its legacy respected not only in words but also in behavior.
Was initially inspired by politics
However, the law is not his first career. In his early years, PR Kawai was impressed with politics, even thought of contesting elections, but a significant twist in the 1990s made him think again. He began training in 1985 in trade and later obtained law at Amravati University. For many years, he worked as additional state lawyers and government lawyers on the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court.

He only accepted the post of a government lawyer on the condition that he would choose his team – two of them Bharti Tangre and Anils Killer. On the back of Nagpur, Aurangabad, Panaji and Mumbai for more than two decades, Justice Kawai led the cases reflecting the deepest concern for justice. An example of this is a woman who has been struggling to occupy her legally -owned house for two decades. His commands finally helped to reach the roof on his head. In another case, a husband separated from her birth baby, the child was brought back by the intervention of Justice Gaui.
Be part of the important Constitution Bench
In 2023, he was part of the Constitution Bench, which was ruled out of Article 370, and in 2024 he was part of the bench rejection of the election bond plan. Judge Kavai says, I will not be the judge of the Supreme Court once I leave the courtroom. I consider to be a common citizen. It suggests that he acts as an ordinary citizen outside the court.
