The deadly attack of recent years
On Tuesday afternoon, five to six terrorists opened fire on tourists in the Pasaron lawn, about 5 km from Bahlgam. This area can only be achieved by sitting on the leg or on the horse. The Pahalgam attack is one of the most deadly civil attacks in the Kashmir Valley in recent years.
Witnesses said that the terrorists came out of the surrounding cedar forests and shot the bullets on people who had eaten or a dining shop. Most of the victims were tourists, of which two foreign and two local people from UAE and Nepal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stopped his journey to Saudi Arabia and held a Cabinet Committee (CCS) meeting in Delhi to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
India action after attacks
Within hours of the terrorist attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Srinagar and held a high -level security review with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Jammu and Kashmir’s Police Director General. He also visited the site of the attack in Bahlgham and met the families of the victims and the survivors.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has described this attack as “larger than any attacks on citizens in recent years.” Many top leaders have strongly condemned the attack, expressing their grief and unity to the victims and their families. Security forces have intensified their search operations in the area with the aim of finding criminals.
