With the help of NDDB, livestock breeders sell crores of rupees every month at this plant in Varanasi. For this reason, the dairy plant is also very profitable. This is the Varanasi Milk Association Plant. Over the past three years, the ability of this plant has increased manifold. Also, the income of livestock breeders is growing.
Livestock owners sell 2 thousand tonnes of cow dung every month
According to information received by the NDDB, two thousand tonnes of cow dung is being purchased every month at the plant. Recently, cattle breeders have paid Rs.2.5 crore for cow dung. Not only that, cattle breeders also sell 1.35 lakh liters of milk every day. Before the NDDB operation, only four thousand liters of milk at the plant was purchased. But now this number is going to hit one and a half lakhs. The processing capacity of the plant is two million liters every day. Soon the Milk Powder, Furned Product and Varanasi’s traditional sweets will also start at the plant.
50 paise on one liter of cow dung
According to NDDB, biogas are made from the cow manure purchased from the farmers in the plant. This gas is used in milk processing. This gas plant is meeting thermal and electronic needs. For this, two thousand tonnes of cow dung is purchased from cattle breeders every month. Farmers are benefiting from this, saving 50 paise in a liter of milk processing along with this plant. At the same time, this initiative of NDDB is also decreasing the emission of methane gas. At the same time, villages are also becoming clean.
