Interview: European Union Standards on Food Supply

The European Commissioner for Trade, Maros šfčovi, says the EU standards are not “negotiated” in agriculture and diet.
In an interview with Euronevas, šefčovič appealed to a fair and uniform agreement with the United States, in the public negotiation schedule.
US Trade Secretary, Hovert Lutnic – Commissioner of Commissioner šfčovič – criticized the EU last month, which criticized the EU regulations last month, because it is considered to be insecure by the European market from some American meats and chickens.
“The European Union does not accept the chicken of the United States. It does not accept American crabs. They hate our cow meat because ours is beautiful and their weakness,” Lutnik told Fox News in April.
The European Union proposed a trade agreement with the US with zero fee, but this is not enough, Washington says; The White House said it wanted to have better access to the EU market.
“I think we were very clear in saying that we would like to protect our regulatory autonomy,” Commissioner šfčovič told the Europe conversation.
“If these are health and safety issues, it is clear that these are not subject to negotiations,” he said.
Washington rejected the story that the European Union did not accept its agricultural products, and said that it was eliminating hormone products towards more organic products in the United States.
“This is not a 100% correct statement, because if they respect the health standards of the EU, we accept their products. In the United States, they focus on healthy foods, low chemicals and organic production,” he said.
When Trump’s White House called “Liberation Day”, in April, the United States imposed 25% fees for cars, steel and EU aluminum and 20% more than other EU products.
He then reduced the 20% rate until July 8, and set up a 90 -day window to reach a wide general agreement. The European Union and the US are now involved in conversations that are expected to expire in early July after opening the 90 -day window for US President Donald Trump talks.
He said that he was pressing a fair and uniform deal with the United States, and that the governments of the EU member states would not accept any decision on imposing punished EU fees.
The recent UK contract with the United States had 10%fees. The member states have made it clear that this is not acceptable.
When asked if he would accept a similar agreement to the United Kingdom, he told Euronevs that “the most clear news I have received from our business ministers has emphasized a uniform agreement with the United States.”
The EU talksman is now seeking a uniform agreement with Washington and said he was ready to negotiate with US allies.
“We are already paying 25% of customs rights for steel. We already pay 25% about cars. We hope it is not fair. So we want to solve it with negotiation solutions, but we are certainly ready.”
“Alternatively, we need to protect European jobs and European companies. So we started consultation in any restructuring process.”
However, if negotiations cannot be resolved by negotiations, the European Union is ready to implement 95 billion euros in the contract.
A new series of US products, including alcohol products such as giant space Boeing and Porbon, may be aimed at possible customs rights by the EU.
