India has called for Pakistan to stop blaming India for violating the Indus Water Agreement, as the territory of Pakistan’s land is a barrier to implementing the agreement. Singh said that it was a definite fact that there was fundamental changes in circumstances since the signing of the Indus Water Agreement, and the conditions of the contract must be reviewed.

He said that these changes include technical improvement, population increase, climate change and continuous border terrorism. Keerthiwardhan Singh said that it was clearly stated that it was done in the sense of goodwill and friendship in the role of this agreement and it was imperative to implement it honestly.

Earlier at the conference held on Friday, Pakistani Prime Minister Shabaz Sharif said his country would not allow India to cross and postpone the contract and not put the crores of people in danger of political gains.
According to Pakistani newspaper Dan, Sharif said, “It is very sad to postpone India’s Indus water contract unilaterally and illegally. This contract controls the sharing of the water of the Indus basin.
