‘If we do not solve the water shortage, these water bombs will die of hunger,’

After Bahlgam terrorist attacks, India announced the Indus Indus Water Agreement. This was shocked by Pakistani leaders. Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party MP Syed Ali Jafar said this was a water bomb on us. We need to deactivate it immediately. He said this move in India would be harmful to one in 10 Pakistan.
Speaking in the Pakistani parliament on Friday, MP Ali Jafar warned that if the water crisis was not resolved soon, the hunger could be spread and mass deaths would occur. Jafar said that if we are our lifeblood of Indus Basin, if we do not solve the water shortage now, we will die of hunger.
The Pakistani MP said it was based on the three fourth part of the water from outside the country. Nine of the 10 people depend on the Indus water basin for their lives, and 90% of Pakistan’s crops and all the major power projects depend on this water. He said this is like a bomb that hangs on us and we must neutralize it.
Crisis on Pakistan’s economy
According to data, Pakistan uses 93% of water from the Indus River in agriculture and electricity. About 80% of its irrigation land depends on this water and its economy is mainly based on agricultural basis.
‘Blood and water cannot flow together’
India took the move after a terrorist attack in Bahlgal on April 22, in which 26 terrorists killed. After the attack, India made it clear that the Indus water contract would be ‘postponed’ until Pakistan crosses the border. Prime Minister Narendra Modi clearly stated that blood and water cannot flow together.
India’s new lead after Operation Sindur
India feared that Pakistan would try to describe itself on the international stage. Therefore, India has sent a delegation to 7 countries after Sindur, so that the Sindh water contract can be interpreted as a case of India’s security and sovereignty.
Pakistan is begging India
Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister Ishak Dar has demanded that India be reconsidered in this decision, but it has made it clear that the water contract will not be restored until the terrorist activities are controlled.
