Malda Mango: ‘Digha Ka Deela’ AB Banega ‘Brand of Bihar’

There are many mangoes in the world in the country. But Milky Malda, a resident of Digha in Patna, the capital of Bihar, is popular in the world for its taste and color. Over time, however, its area has been reduced. The Department of Agriculture is in its level in relation to its conservation and expansion. Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal said that Dudhia Malda of Digha will also expand in other districts. At the same time, 200-200 plants should be sent from the Horticulture Directorate to each district for planting this plant.
Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal visited the Agricultural Research Organization Patna on Tuesday to promote the innovation and self -help of the agriculture and horticulture sector. The Secretary has observed the process of manufacturing quality plant materials of different crops of landscaping crops and given the necessary instructions to the scientists to provide quality plants to the farmers.
Daghi Malda of Digha is expected to get the GI tag
Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Agarwal has received information about the ongoing process to provide GI tag to Dudhia Malda. At the same time, Patna High Court and Agriculture Secretary Justice Rajiv Ranjan Prasad gave an important message to get this species on the national platform by planting the Milky Malda Mango Plant at the Institute’s premises. Regional Director of the Agricultural Research Institute, Dr. S.N. Das told “farmer” that the process of providing GI tag to Duria Malda has been completed by about 80 per cent, and it is expected to get the GI tag by 2026.
Milk Malda plants are sold from July 1
The Agricultural Research Institute has prepared five thousand plants for the conservation and expansion of Patna Milky Malda, which has to be sold at Rs.80-100 per plant from the first week of July. In addition, 1000-1200 plants of mangoes, 500-800 plants of Amarapali, 250-400 plants Dassahri plants, 1000-1200 Gua plants, 250-300 plants jackfruit and 1000-1200 plants are currently ready.
Milk Malda Plant is planted in each district
Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Agarwal said that Dudhia Malda of Digha is also expanded to other districts, in which 200-200 plants are sent from the Horticulture Directorate in each district. This initiative is not only possible to protect this specific race, but also farmers take advantage of high quality fruit production. During his visit, the Agriculture Secretary also visited the Institute’s Agricultural Technology Information Center, Modern Nursery, Inal Shada and Spices of Spices, Gua Maternity Tree, Vermi Compost Unit and Herbal Home Show-Case. He praised the innovations in these activities and gave suggestions for further expansion.
